Get ready to pedal through Patchogue with Pedal Party Long Island.

Owner Zak Idrissi, 28, says he and his partner Amanda Warren were inspired by the party bikes they tried down in Savannah, Georgia.

He says the experience was nothing but “smiles and laughter and memories,” and they knew they wanted to bring the concept to Long Island.

“Once you’re on it, you’re a celebrity. Everyone’s waving at you, smiling, honking — it’s euphoric,” Idrissi said.

Idrissi, who is originally from Long Beach and now lives in Babylon Village, adds that he noticed biking had become a very popular activity during the COVID-19 pandemic, and he wanted to take the fun to the next level.

“It’s something new and it’s important to us to be innovative and bring new ideas to the town and give people something fun to do,” Idrissi said.

Pedal Party Long Island is now running in the downtown and offers two different types of experiences for patrons to choose from — one by land and one by sea.

The Pedal Party Tour encourages riders to “drink, pedal, and party” on a land tour around Patchogue. Each bike seats three to six people and riders can choose between the Tour Roulette, Brewery Tour, and Classic Pedal Party Tour.

The Paddle Pub experience, which will be launching in June, is a pedal-powered, eco-friendly boat that seats up to 26 passengers, which entails karaoke and party games while cruising on the water.

Idrissi says him and his team owe a big thanks to the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce for connecting them with the local businesses they’re partnering with, including Bobbique, Local Burger Co., Village Idiot Pub, The Better Man Distilling Co., Daisy’s Nashville Lounge, James Joyce, Darling Brewing Company, Cloud Nine Ice Cream & Cereal Bar, and Blue Point Brewing Company

“It’s such a great way to experience something new, and on top of the bike being an experience within itself, you also get to experience these unique local spots if you haven’t already had a chance to check them out,” Idrissi said.

All of these businesses are stops along the touring route and complimentary appetizers are provided at each stop.

The Blue Point Brewery — located at 225 West Main Street — is where each tour starts and ends.

“We are over the moon excited,” Idrissi said. “It’s been such a long journey and we finally found our home in Patchogue.”

Idrissi says that the community response has been positive so far and people are excited to try out the new experience.

The Pedal Party Tour provides a “great way to get a little flavor and taste of different places,” he says, which is why expanding into other towns is on his radar for the future.

But for right now, he’s enjoying the present moment in Patchogue.

“Our hope is that everyone wins — the customers, the businesses, the town, the community, and Long Island for having another great experience,” Idrissi said.
