What’s better than a little chicken fried and, with apologies to Zac Brown Band, cold beer on a Friday night? The folks at The Hero Joint say absolutely nothing is better.
That’s right, Chicken Fried Fridays has arrived to the Patchogue sandwich shop, which is located behind Kilwins next to the rear entrance of Patchogue-Medford Library.
The special nights will run from 4 to 8 p.m. each Friday through the rest of the summer, if not longer.
On those days, people can pick up a half tray ($20 for 4 people) or full tray ($40 for 8 people) of buttermilk fried chicken.
That, or they could get it delivered. Pricing includes cornbread.
“As we’re known for at The Hero Joint, we are not taking any shortcuts,” said owner John Murray. “We are butchering our own chicken and marinating it. And each order will include our house-made cornbread.”
The regular menu will not be offered during the chicken fries.
To order, call 631-636-0500, or click here to order through the website. There will be an in-house delivery driver standing by. You can also use the Hero Joint app, powered by ChowNow. Click here to download it.
