Patchogue Village Mayor Paul Pontieri has declared a State of Emergency as the state tries to contain the spread of coronavirus.
The State of Emergency measures (see below) are effective today, though Wednesday’s village elections are still on — for now.
Here’s what the local emergency measure entails:
• Village Hall and all facilities are closed to the public, though people can email Village Clerk Patti Seal at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 631-475-4300 to address any village business filings.
• All board and committee meetings are cancelled until after May 1, except Village Board meetings.
• The March 23 Village Board meeting is still happening, though participation will be done remotely. The event the board meets in-person that night at 6 p.m., people are asked not to attend unless they have an urgent matter before the board. Any comments or questions should be submitted via email to the village clerk.
• All Parks and Recreation Department events are cancelled until after May 1.
