This Patchogue entrepreneur is embarking on his next business endeavor by heading into Long Island Community Hospital to revamp its bistro for staffers and patients alike.
“The name of the bistro is going to be called Greenhouse Café,” said Rob Cutrone, best known locally as Rob from The Bean coffeehouse in Patchogue. “It’s going to speak to life, wellness, health and positivity.”
The bistro should be open by next week, he said.
This concept is the fourth business the 27-year-old is a part of. In 2012, he created Press Play Event & Entertainment, East End Coffee Roasters in 2016, and is a part owner of The Bean, which opened in 2018.
“I’m super excited to start another business,” Cutrone told GreaterPatchogue. “In 2018 I was awarded Long Island Business News’ 30 under 30… so my new goal now is to be on Long Island’s 40 under 40.”
“I’ve had this concept in my head for a long time,” he said of the bistro.
Formerly Brookhaven Memorial, the hospital is located in East Patchogue The institution rebranded itself in 2018 with a new name. With that, also comes a reboot of the dining options.
“I want to make it the place to go to at the hospital, which already has 5,000 existing people,” he said. “That’s my goal.”
Cutrone, who lives in East Patchogue, signed the lease on Feb. 13. No construction needs to be done, just small aesthetic improvements to make the bistro a welcoming place, he said. It will be decorated with dozens of faux plants to resemble a greenhouse.
“I’m hoping that what we do at the Greenhouse will add a little positivity to someone’s life,” he said. “It’s a health-driven café… lots of salads, lots of fresh food, higher quality ingredients, along with vegan and vegetarian options for employees or patrons of the hospital.”
