Patchogue’s riverfront restaurants are getting set to host the First Annual SantaCon Pub Crawl on the river Friday, Nov. 22. This is a rain or shine event, though the water taxies (see below) won’t operate in the rain.

SantaCon is also two days before the annual Christmas Holiday Boat Parade, which happens on Sunday, Nov. 24.

The SantaCon, which starts at 5 p.m. and runs all night, is also doubling as a Toys for Tots drive. Anyone who brings an unopened, unwrapped toy gets a free beer from the participating restaurants: Drift 82, The Oar Steak & Seafood Grille, Harbor Crab Co. and Off Key Tikki.

Dublin Deck isn’t involved, since it closes for the cooler months.

There will also be water taxis for holiday revelers, carrying all the Santas and their friends from bar to bar on the water.

The water taxi rate is $10 for unlimited rides, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., and maybe until 11 p.m. if the demand is there.

Each location will be offering all-night drink specials as well.

“We just wanted to bring some of that holiday magic down to the Patchogue River, and remind people that the riverfront is still open year round, with the exception of Dublin Deck,” said Drift 82 co-owner John Sarno.

Lastly, Qwik Ride carts will be on hand for free lifts for people that night. Click here to download the Qwik Ride app. Qwik Ride only ask that passengers tip the drivers.

“So dress as Santa,” said Sarno. “Have some fun.”
