Patchogue’s Second Annual Wellness Walk is all set for Saturday, Sept. 28, from noon to 5 p.m.
The idea behind the walks, which are run by the nonprofit Patchogue Foundation’s health and wellness committee, is to highlight the many health and wellness offerings in the Patchogue area.
“While getting everyone walking and winning prizes along the way,” reads a press announcement.
Each attendee receives a mapped route of all participating businesses and a stamp card to be marked as they visit each location.
They also each receive a “visit gift” from each place, and if they visit all locations on the route they are entered into the Wellness Gift Bag Raffle, where they can win one of three gift bags.
Each gift bag is valued at over $500 and is filled with an assortment of full health offerings such as massage, acupuncture, health coaching, gym membership, skin care and more.
Last year’s event was a huge success, say the organizers.
“I would recommend this walk to anyone who wants to experience Patchogue in a different way,” said Jeanne Monaghan, who was among last year’s basket winners. “The raffle gift bag I won had many wonderful offerings such as a massage, an energy healing, and a float.
“It was a really nice time and I’m looking forward to the next one!”
Participating is free but people must register. To do so, visit the Second Annual Patchogue Wellness Walk event page on Facebook.
The rain date is Oct. 5.
