Bellport’s bull is getting ready to defend his undefeated record.

Alex “El Toro” Vargas (3-0, 1 KO) will take on Ugandan fighter Deo Kizito (3-4, 2 KO) on Friday, Sept. 20, on the Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing “Rockin’ Fights” 36 fight card at The Paramount of Huntington.

It’s a long time coming for Vargas, whose last match was in February.

“I’m really anxious to get back in the ring,” said the 24-year-old. “It’s been a long seven months of having fights fall through, so I’m excited to finally get back in there at home on Long Island.”

All of Vargas’ professional bouts have been at the Long Island venue, where he has drawn some of the loudest chants.

During his last fight, the Long Islander earned his first knockout against 35-year-old Benjamin Borteye (4-5), his most experience opponent.

The Bellporter isn’t looking past his next competitor, who has faced some top-level talent.

“He’s got a lot of experience having gone eight rounds before and fought top prospects,” Vargas told GreaterPatchogue.

This match will be four rounds.
