The brunch party scene that was happening at the short-lived Flight restaurant in Patchogue has shifted west.

Bistro 25, which opened last year in Blue Point, launched the first monthly brunch bash in February, followed by another earlier this month. Both Sunday brunches were sold out.

In the DJ booth is Richie Luchese, who also ran the Flight music.

“No one is doing what I’m doing,” said Luchese. “I’m really proud of this party.”

He describes the scene as a “high-energy dance/brunch party” that has so far attracted people in their 30s and 40s. The next party brunch at Bistro 25 happens April 7.

How it works is this: People make reservations for a sit-down brunch that starts at 11 a.m., then the music and dancing gets underway between 1 p.m. and 1:30. It winds down around 4 p.m.

“Even with the tables booked, walk-ins are welcome at the bar for food and drinks,” Luchese said, adding the event’s instant-popularity could be attributed to social media and word of mouth.
