The Alive After Five dates for 2019 have been approved for Patchogue.

Just like in 2018, the street festival series in the village will kick off in June instead of July.

The first Alive After Five of 2019 will happen Thursday, June 27, and run every other Thursday thereafter, with four dates total.

Those dates are June 27, July 11, July 25, Aug. 8, with an Aug. 22 rain date should one festival get cancelled due to weather, which happened this past summer.

“We’ll be ending a bit earlier this summer,” said David Kennedy of the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce, which organizes the festival series.

He requested the dates on behalf of the chamber Monday night before the Village Board, which approved them.

“We are aware there’s [construction] work tentatively scheduled for West Main Street and around the spur area that could effect what we can or can’t do for Alive After Five,” Kennedy noted.

2019 will mark the 18th year for Alive After Five in Patchogue, a concept that has since been adopted by the downtown areas of neighboring Riverhead and Bay Shore.

With the backing of chamber leaders in Patchogue, the Riverhead Business Improvement District now runs an Alive on 25 series and downtown Bay Shore plays host to Alive by the Bay, which is run by the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Bay Shore’s restaurant committee.
