On Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018, Karen Grote Ferb, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend of many passed away at the age of 73.

Karen would be described by most anyone that knew her as nothing less than a pillar of the community. Her generosity and kind spirit permeated her many undertakings, whether she was planting for the Garden Club or gallery sitting for the Arts Council, she did it with an attitude that made even the most mundane tasks feel special and exciting to be a part of.

Perhaps Karen’s most extraordinary trait was her ability to make strangers feel like family, it is through the expression of this trait that Karen nurtured and grew a garden of friendships, love, and goodwill. Karen’s place in our hearts is as tremendous as her place in our community, in both she will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered.

Karen is survived by her husband, Thomas E Ferb; her daughter, Lara K Ferb; her son, Adam D Ferb; her grandson, Thomas E Ferb; and her sister, Ferol Forry.

Services in memory of Karen will be held on Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, from 2 – 4:00 p.m., and 7 – 9 p.m. at Robertaccio Funeral Home, 85 Medford Ave., Patchogue, NY 11772.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Patchogue Arts Council in her memory. Patchogue Arts Council, 20 Terry St., Suite 116, Patchogue, NY 11772.
