The annual St. Patrick’s Parade and “May the Road Rise to Meet Ye 5K” is all set for March 18 in Patchogue Village.
That’s the day after St. Patrick’s Day — which this year falls on a Saturday.
So it’s a good thing the race doesn’t start too early. The runners line up outside Finest Fitness at 208 East Main Street and head off at 11:55 a.m.
The parade then follows down Main Street.
This year’s parade Grand Marshal is David Kennedy, a Patchogue Village resident and the executive director of the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce.
That honor will be officially bestowed upon Kennedy at the annual Passing of the Sash, which happens Sunday, Feb. 25, at 1 p.m. at Fulton’s Gate Irish Pub on East Main Street.
The parade is run by the Greater Patchogue Foundation’s Cultural Heritage Committee.
