Medford Veterans Memorial Park on Route 112 in Medford will be playing host to an Earth Day event that’s planned for this Saturday, April 22.

The first-ever Earth Day festival in Medford will feature:

• Earth-friendly demonstrations

• Yoga in the Park

• Make a craft

• Entertainment

• Shed the Meds!

(Bring expired, unused medications for disposal.)

• Get your hands dirty!

• Giveaways

• Refreshments (featuring Chubb’s Market and Frostie of Suffolk)

The event is co-hosted by county Legislator Rob Calarco, the Medford Taxpayers & Civic Association, town Councilman Neil Foley, the Medford Chamber of Commerce and the Patchogue-Medford Library

“I am proud to host this new community event,” Calarco said in a statement announcing the event. “Earth Day is a special day around the world and it’s great that we are bringing home the spirit of taking care of the earth.

“The activities and demonstrations planned for the day are going to be a lot of fun for the entire family, and I hope residents take advantage of this great event.”
