One thing will remain constant throughout the weekend in the GreaterPatchogue.com coverage area, from Brookhaven to Bayport: The carnival will be in town.

Sponsored by the Patchogue Fire Department, the annual summer carnival at St. Joseph’s College runs through Sunday.

The rest of the weekend runs the gamut, from Friday’s regional Grown on Long Island Day festivities in Yaphank — a mile or two out of the coverage area, we know, but check out Deer Run Farms while you’re there — to an art show in Bellport to rapper Busta Rhymes Saturday night at the Emporium.

There’s also a free Saturday night concert in the New Village at Patchogue’s Village Green.

One of the bigger community-oriented events of the year happens Saturday in Medford, where soccer players of all stripes will gather for the 7th Annual Play for Peace tournament. Click here for more information.

And be sure to check back at greaterpatchogue.com for coverage for the tourney.
